When Sheree Petree graduated from Fresno State University with a degree in journalism, she immediately snagged a management job working for the Telephone Company in their Pasadena, California office. Within the year, she was transferred to the Santa Cruz office, where she managed 30 telephone operators and two supervisors. There, as a 23-year-old rookie, she wondered what would happen if a caller thought an operator had overheard his incriminating conversation. How far would he go to silence that operator?
For years that "what if" thinking lingered in Sheree's creative mind. Ultimately, it became the springboard for NUMBER, PLEASE, her first published novel.
